I just started using TinyMediaManager and it seems to be working so far. At least it works pulling the online data and saving jpg and data locally into an xml, which could then be used by any program if TMM can't handle the workload. I tried kodi a few years ago and there was a limit on # of actors ...

Sure, it can be bad . Your friend is right, depending on how secure your computer is, people may hack into it. Also, read at torrentfreak how YTS is providing user torrent IPs to MAFIIA lawyers so the studios can sue those users for maybe million$. It's a dirty world and at the very least you should...

I'd recommend running Transmission on XP. Last Spring, I was using utorrent 1.8.3 on XP32 through VPN and getting horrible uploads and very few peers overall. Switched to Transmission and all became right...

My first step is to download a linux torrent or two from https://linuxtracker.org/ WITHOUT using a VPN. If that works then probably a VPN issue, if doesn't work, then troubleshoot firewall, etc, to make it work.

Yesterday, I upgraded to 4.2.5 from 4.2.1. Same thing, runs for about 10-20 secs, then dies off to everything zero.
Reverted back to 4.2.1 and all is fine.
