Re: News Search engines
Official meant we (the qBittorrent core team) maintain them.* Unofficial meant third-party contributors write/maintain them. Now since Sledgehammer took over the project, most engines have been fixed/rewritten by third party people. (Correct me if I am wrong - this is all just a "as far as I kn...

Re: qBittorrent doesn't remember the default folder
This is normal behavior, it's not an issue. To me, this is how it should work , because you set a default folder in Settings. Why would it REWRITE that setting when I temporarily save something somewhere else? But... Check our bugtracker if someone made a wishlist for this, or make a new one. Others...

Re: Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition released
Last time I had to C++, I used NetBeans because it had Clang support.
It's a cool combination. (Though, I used a Linux virtual guest to do this.)

Re: Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition released
Have it installed, but always crashes on me after a few minutes, so I just use SharpDevelop.
Could not figure out why it crashes, the Ultimate version works.
Weird.

Re: Add torrent by php or python
Via the WEB UI API, I think it's definitely possible. Take a look at it, that's your best shot.

Re: Socks5 Proxy Leaking IPs! :(
@OP: Be careful with Netlimiter though. It can ban you from games for example.
You can find many similar (and free!) tools all around the internet.
Just use the "sysinternals suite", it's got 99% of the tools anyone may ever need on Windows.

Re: UI Lock password
If it's empty, the file does not exist. Okay, let's find the file. After you open the Terminal, type: "ls -a" Check if you have a ".config" there. If you do, type: "cd .config". gz, you just went into the config folder. Again, "ls -a". See if you have qBittorr...

Re: Creating new torrent: naming a torrent from a folder name by default
It would be great if you could implement a direct torrent file naming after the main folder of the torrent. uTorrent is doing this by default and it is pain to manually name a torrent every time you want to upload something. You can report this as a "wishlist" on our bugtracker. See below...

Re: Socks5 Proxy Leaking IPs! :(
It's a known issue, but thanks for the heads up. There is a ticket for it on our bugtracker. A person I met on IRC said he will work on it, not sure if he started it / finished it / or what's the state on it now. If you have some C++ skills, and some free time, you can also help to implement a fix a...

Re: UI Lock password
Lol mate. You open the terminal. You type this in: nano -w ~/.config/qBittorrent/qBittorrent.conf Like.. that line above. And uhm.. the file opens! You modify what you want, then press "CTRL+X", and then a "Y" key. Aaand the file is saved and closed, and you can close the Termina...

Re: Seeding vs Super Seeding
Super seeding basically is good when you are the first seeder. When YOU upload something. It will upload strictly to the first/one peer, thus helping with the distribution. Because you have to upload it only once (then the other peer should help), it's much faster than uploading the content to 10000...

Re: I/O problem
Never use a disk with reallocated sectors. Maybe only for a temporary junk drive.
By the way there is a tool for this (repairing disks permanently by reallocation):

Re: I/O problem
chkdsk only checks ntfs descriptors.
to really test a hard drive, you need a surface scan tool.
(there are live USB/disc tools for this.)
