Optimizing qBittorrent For Speed (v3.3.4)

Post by locodicegr »

Hello guys, i have some weird problem's with a torrent, it says there are 10 seeders (the uploader told me that there are 15)
but the download speed is sooo slooww 10.5Kib/s ... i did reannounce all trackers / redownload the file for 1 hour the torrent speed up to 36%
but after that the same thing, really slow speed.

So any tips/trick's to try???

Any up-to-date guide?

Thank you, Cheers.

Loco.

Edit: Also a lot of trackers dont work.

Remove the trackers that dont work no need having them there.
Dont spam re-announce, more trackers/peers =/= faster downloads.
Tracker information is likely out of date, the "missing" peers have probably closed their client/stopped seeding/not connected..
Its likely just a slow torrent, if he means 15 people connected then 10 seeders + 5 peers??

I remove the not working trackers.

I dont understand the divide them by 8.

My speed is 9.50 download / 0.70 upload.

Right now qbittorent says Seeds 4 (10) Peers 11 (32) and the down speed is 8.5KiB/s  18days until finished -.-'

In the morning for 1 hour the download speed was 500+ with 10 hours remaining..but suddenly...

You would divide 9.50 by 8 to get your maximum "real" download speed.
In your case it is 1.2mb/s
In qbittorent options you would set 1200 as your download rate if you want to use your entire connection, or a lower number (800 for example) if you want the internet to remain useable when qbittorent goes at full speed.

It sounds like the fast peer disconnected.
It is likely a slow torrent :(

Thanks a lot for your answers.

So i unistall qbittorrent and install uTorrent (For testing)

And donwload 3 torrents fast for test, then i start the torrent that i have the problem, right now i am at 47% with 5 hours remaining / download speed 500-600 kb/s

Seeds/Peers 0.363 (i dont know how to translate this on utorrent.)

So what is going on? I cant understand really.

Maybe i should wait for the next version to try again, i dont wanna use Utorrent.

Sorry for my bad english not my native language.

Edit 1: So the speed is stable 500-600 kb/s donwloading...(fingers crossed) on utorrent.

Seeds 2 of 10 connected.
Peers 12 of 34 connected.

So whats going on with qbitorrent...?

Edit 2: Still going strong with utorrent, 1 hour remaining...5 seeds / 12 peers active.

Edit 3: Maybe qbitorrent have problems with big file torrents? i dont know what to think.

I dont understand the divide them by 8.
Eight bits in a Byte

ISPs measure speeds in bits per second (b/s)

BitTorrent measures speeds in Bytes per second (B/s
