Since many people encounter weird problems with the official 3.0.9 windows build, I did another one which uses libtorrent 0.16.9+svn. This build is intended for troubleshooting purposes by the people affected. It is related to this thread: http://qbforums.shiki.hu/index.php?topic=1814.0

Thanks for using a good host like Mega. Seems to work the same as the last build so far.

For the sake of thread completeness, I'll re-post here as I've installed "Special build: qbittorrent 3.0.9 with libtorrent 0.16.9+svn" in place of the previous special build.  I'll report back.  Here's my OS:

OS Name:          Microsoft Windows XP Professional
OS Version:        5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600

I've been running the "3.0.9 with libtorrent 0.16.9+svn" version without any stalls since I installed it about 20 hours ago and then running constant multiple downloads / uploads throughout that time frame.  This is a definite improvement over the official release of 3.0.9 so far.  I'll post again if I see any issues.

Here's an interesting question:

Can anyone confirm whether or not these issues have been seen in the 3.1.0alpha builds?

I tried the special build of 3.0.9, after having problems with the released version. It wouldn't shut down, and new torrents just stayed at "Stalled". XP Home SP3, up to date.

This version of QBit shuts down fine for me, but new torrents still sit at "Stalled". If I shut down QBit, on re-start the torrents start to download.

Back to 3.0.8 for me.

Does the log say something weird? (if you can please copy paste it here)

It seems that the ports aren't opened in your router by upnp/natmp. If upnp/natpmp succeeds you should get this messages in the log:

1. Could you try to manually portforward these ports on your router?
2. Does 3.0.8 display the message I quoted?

The router has port 30715 manually forwarded. The computer is connectable through that port. I guess I should shut off UPnP off, but it hasn't been an issue before. I'll try 3.0.9 with it off.

If I shut down 3.0.9, the new torrent starts when I re-start Qbit. 3.0.8 does not show the lines you quoted, and new torrents start fine with it. This from 3.0.8:

With UPnP turned off on 3.0.9, it behaves the same: new torrents just stay stalled. It does upload the existing torrents fine.

I always had the port specified as the listening port, so I really wasn't using UPnP.

Seems really odd DHT is enabled AND working? It shows nodes?

Are you using torrents with multiple trackers, and it's just not connecting to any tracker? Have you tried rearranging this list so it connects to a different one? Or, enabled 'Always announce to all trackers' from the advanced tab?

DHT is enabled and working, with nodes showing. Upload and down load of torrents that were there when QBit was started work fine. It is just when I add a new torrent that it just stays stalled with 3.0.9.

The torrent site I usually use disables DHT in their trackers. I'll try it again form another torrent site that allows DHT, but previously it didn't work with them either.

The torrents I have tried with the special build have two trackers. Both generally seem to be working. I'll check 3.0.9 again to see what the stalled new torrents are doing. There is a difference in behaviour from 3.0.8.

For reasons not clear to me, installing Deluge or checking and unchecking "Always announce to all trackers", has fixed my Qbit 3.0.9 Special build. Torrents now start downloading fine, with two trackers. It doesn't matter if the "Always announce to all trackers" is checked or not.

I had installed and uninstalled back and forth between 3.0.9S and 3.0.8 several times before this, with no change. Could having Deluge (1.3.6) installed change something?

I cannot understand what happened with Deluge. It normally doesn't have to do anything with qBittorrent. Coincidence?
Did you power off/power on your router/modem in the meantime?
