By way of background I am searching for a torrent client that has done something to address to the significant issues associated with higher internet speeds, very large file sizes (>50GB) and same old HDDs. I refer to issues like viewtopic.php?t=9944
My current understanding is libtorrent forms the basis of qbittorent which is not really helpful in the sense that the newest Plex media player is based on mpv and yet cannot play HDR video despite mpv having no problems with it at all. I am particularly interested in the ability to allocate RAM for disk I/O caching (as above link) and memory mapping for disk I/O operations (MMAP) for which I can see some claimed support for in libtorrent.
Additionally if anyone knows the difference between libtorrent and libtorrent-rasterbar please advise.
