I\O Errors? What can be causing them?
« on: October 05, 2017, 08:25:00 PM »
So i have a WDC 12TB Duo drive mirrored and have been using it for a few years now with no problems.  Out of no where i started getting I\O errors with Qbit and not sure whats going on and why.  I am able to get into the drive with no problems and errors.  I have ran a few different test on the drive to see if a drive is bad and each one has come back with no problems.  Right now it seems that Qbit is corrupting my downloads.  Any ideas on this?

This is what i get - 10/5/2017 1:55 PM - An I/O error occurred, 'Season 4' paused. Season 4 file (File Path Here) error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error

Windows 10
Qbit - 3.3.16
WDC Duo 12TB

Sadly, this could be due to a 4+ year old qBitTorrent bug:

...If you have qBitTorrent's cache set too large (over 500 MB).

...

- Run some HDD test (apps that write then read the same data to see if it works OK)
- Check SMART for your HDD
- Check your RAM with memtest86 (https://www.memtest86.com/)
