Qbittorrent Pre-Allocate Writing Zeros
« on: November 21, 2017, 05:47:55 AM »
When it is going to be fixed ?  Utorrent 2.2.1 is the only version that is working fine and pre-allocate without writing zeroes .

Qbittorrent worked once before, but now I can't get it to stop writing zeroes .  I don't want Fragmentation  and Pre-Allocate is the fastest way to download now.

Writing zeros also wears out SSDs faster. It's better to just use the file system's ability to pre-allocate than to write data, then over-write it.

This is supposedly only fixed in qBitTorrent v4.0.0 and up.

You will need to post on qBitTorrent's Github. I think there's already a post on the subject, but I can't seem to find it atm.
