How to export&import torrents
« on: January 23, 2019, 03:47:35 am »
I'm need to move my qBitTorrents to another PC. I read that you can copy&paste .torrent files from folder C:\Users\**\AppData\Local\qBittorrent\BT_backup to another computer, but problem is that I added not only torrents but magnet links too. So If run qBitTorrent I'll see nearly 500 torrents, but in local folder with torrents (C:\Users\**\AppData\Local\qBittorrent\BT_backup) there is only 100.

I need to move ALL my added torrents (include torrent file and magnet links) to another PC. How can I do it?

If the .torrent files aren't in the BT_backup folders..
I only know a really hard way...
Copying each torrent in qBitTorrent as magnet links. :(

Well, probably copying magnet links is the good way to manage added torrents but only if there is a qBitTorrent feature or some software to do it automatically

I just migrated a bunch from a PC to a laptop, and here is what I did.
I had a bunch of torrent files, and partially downloaded files in the source.

NOTE: I didn't used the .torrent files at all, but rather I took advantage of a really nice feature of qB (that uT doesn't have). You can select multiple in-progress files and cntl-c their Magnet Links to the clipboard, AND you can enter multiple Magnet Links into the Download dialog box. Cntl-V.

First: I copied all the files in the SEEDING directory of my PC over to the Laptop, making sure they ended up in the directory destination that the Laptop's qB settings indicated.
This was done so that already DL parts were transferred.

Then, I went to the PC and it's qB, and selected all the torrents, right-clicked, and Copy Magnet Link.
Cntl-V (Pasted) this into a new text file.
Copied this text file to my Laptop.
Opened it up and selected all and copied (Cntl-C) to my clipboard, and hit the qB Download from Torrent Links button, pasted all those magnet links, and hit the Download button.
Now I selected all files, and right-clicked Force Recheck. (This caused qB to go back and discover the partially DL files that had been copied over.)
Once all the Laptop downloads matched the current state of the DLs of the PC, I then deleted them off the PC.
