Windows / Re: Torrent Conundrum
« Last post by Switeck on Today at 12:18:48 AM »
You're probably screwed with nothing you can do about double-downloading those torrents.

qBitTorrent is VERY picky about not finding torrents and trying to redownload them. :(
Got to be really careful now when restarting qBT and quickly stopping torrents that go from 'seeding' to 0% complete and redownloading.
Windows / Torrent Conundrum
« Last post by nimbus109 on June 21, 2018, 10:17:08 PM »
I inadvertently moved my files from my PC's destination folder and realized my mistake then quickly move them back to the same place. My torrent site's 'Required' then went from 20 to 40. All the files are again seeding in the proper destination folder as indicated by qBittorrent.  When I moved my files could qBittorent have re-download the files it couldn't find, creating an exaggerated download ratio?  Is there anything I can do? Is there any way I can get that ratio back to 0.20 which it was before I screwed up and moved the files. Hope this is clear. I am not that proficient in all things torrent, obviously. Thanks.
Suggestions / checkboxes for the left bar (categories, tags)
« Last post by mrpaco on June 21, 2018, 09:16:35 PM »
It would be great if checkboxes could be added to the left bar to categories, status, trackers and tags so we could select instead of only one of each, multiple.

for example if I want to see the torrents from 2 different tags at the same time but nothing else, I can't, qbt only let me select one tag limiting us on how to manage our torrents. Or if I want to see every torrent but the ones tagged with XXXXX or YYYYY, I can't either.

Suggestions / retry downloading if failed
« Last post by coromonadalix on June 21, 2018, 04:59:54 AM »
I have the latest 64 bit version of Qbittorrent, i'm pleagued with the many files/repertories in 1 huge torrent "problems"  disk write fails etc …

I would like an better retry if failed option like : 1 time , many x time, or always retry  options

I had to resort to an other torrent client to do the job … hated that Qbittorrent was always crashing after 1-2 minutes of download.

Older versions were better ...

Okay then, I am going to find out on how to 'port-forward' the (qBittorrent) 'Port used for incoming connections' on my Linksys router.

Also, greatly decreasing the number of upload slots...did you mean globally or per torrent?
There was only one (1) torrent downloading but admittedly, and because of sheer ignorance on my part, I lowered the slot-numbers in both boxes (it takes some time to detect changes to the torrent downloading process).

As a 'non-tech' I find it difficult to get a clear understanding of the intrinsic torrent downloading activity and perceive the entire adjusting 'cum' fine-tuning process kind of overwhelming. Pertinent documents I came across are not easy to comprehend also, IMHO. But I keep on persevering.

Since the issue concerning "Erratic download" is unriddled I have modified my original post and added [Solved) beside the topic.

Thanks again for responding to my posts most informatively and patiently.
Windows / qBittorrent is the best, but i quit

I was so happy when I found qBittorrent.  The categories, the ability to rename everything on the fly, and most of all being able to choose my network adapter.  it has everything.  it's the best.  but holy shit it doesn't work any more and it's driving me crazy.  I mean, lets see here what are my issues.
  • Queuing is suddenly broken.
  • Files have to be rechecked all the time (which takes FOREVER).
  • half my downloads won't finish and will just stall at 99% until i reboot and then they magically finish
  • seeds stop and just list Completed with the error log telling me the "file has reached the maximum ratio i set" when all those boxes are unchecked and they have always been unchecked and I have never had that problem until just today

I've been torrenting a long time and I know how to re-announce and verify trackers, and I know the difference between a problem with a torrent and a problem with a client.  Things just randomly go wrong with this client all the time.  I have hundreds of torrents going and it's just way too much work keeping this client functional.  I don't have time to babysit this program this much.  it is just unusable for me at this point, and i'm really frustrated because I don't want to switch because qBittorrent is the shit, but I don't see much choice.  I hope the Dev's get their act together because this was the best client I ever used until it started giving me the finger every day.  Now I have to, once again, rebuild a new client with all these damn torrents and spend days and days waiting for the files to recheck.  FML

Currently, due to limitations+bugs the "fastest" or at least most stable DL+UL speeds can be had using qBitTorrent v3.3.16 instead of v4.0.0-4.1.1
I expect that will change before the end of the year as bugs get fixed.
