In my qBittorrent I setup the columns to show and their widths according to my taste.

However when I resize the qbittorrent main window then the widths of all the columns are automatically resized as well.

I don't want this!

How can I prevent auto-resizing of column widths?

Where are the current options saved?

I want to export them (for backup purposes or to import them on another qbittorrent installation).

Can I store them somehow as an *.ini file in the qbittorrent installation directory for portable usage?

I installed qBittorrent on an external hard disk which is connected by USB to my current computer and got the drive letter H:

Currently I specfied  absolute directory pathes for

Options-->Downloads--->Default Save path=H:\torr\qbit\incompletefiles\
Options-->Downloads--->keep incomplete torrents in=H:\torr\qbit\incompletetorr\
Options-->Downloads--->Copy .torrent files for finished downloads in=H:\torr\qbit\downloadedtorr\

Occasionally I connect the mentioned external USB hard disk to other computers like my notebook.
So it could happen that another drive letter is assigned to it.

The disadvantage is that the directories specified as above become invalid.

What I need is a way to specify RELATIVE directory paths starting from the qbittorrent installation directory
(similar to unix style) e.g.(mind the leading dot!):

Options-->Downloads--->Default Save path=.\incompletefiles\

The way with the leading dot seems not to work.

Is there another way (e.g. by entering a variable like %QBITINSTALLDIR%\incompletefiles\)

Or can this be implemented in the next release?

Thank you
Peter

I just tried 4.1.3, and Dimeadozen still doesn't work for me. I still get the same error message, "protocol error 4 - no/erroneous BT client listening." I guess I have to resign myself that not new qBittorent versions will ever work with site.

Too bad the DIME admins aren't interested in troubleshooting this issue. qBittorrent is not the only client that doesn't work with the site. It seems pretty clear to me that the whatever is the problem with one is probably the same problem with all. If they could solve, or at least identify the problem they would allow their users a greater variety of clients.

I should have done some homework before posting this.

I have found a Firefox extension called torrent control that does the job perfectly.

Windows / send magnetic links to remote qbittorrent installation
« Last post by rs232 on October 19, 2018, 09:10:14 AM »
I did see this implemented long time ago in utorrent.
Basically you could install something called Magnet Handler and ĀµTorrent Adder, that would allow you click on magnetic links (or even torrents if I remember well) on PC1 and as a action it would add the downloading instructions onto a utorrent installation on machine2 (on the same LAN).
It was basically a way to avoid lots of copy and paste from one device to another.

Does something like this exist for qbittorrent or could it be implemented?

I think lots of people like me don't do torrenting on the main device

Thanks!
