Introductions / Hello from the noobiest!!
« Last post by unmind on Today at 10:38:14 PM »
Hello, everyone!

I'm a long-time Linux user and have mostly used Deluge/Transmission. Recently, I've gotten my super grubby hands on an iMac (love it) and today I decided to give qBittorrent a go for the first time! Looking forward to good times, can't wait!!  :o

Suggestions / RSS Downloader Needed Features
« Last post by b0dhimind on Today at 05:08:14 PM »
On the latest version as of this post.

What does the "enable auto downloading of RSS torrents" do? I was expecting a way to specify a schedule (download at X time or every X minutes).

Also, the RSS downloader doesn't remember what was downloaded. (It re-downloads if it has already been downloaded and then deleted.)
This user has same experience: https://qbforums.shiki.hu/index.php/topic,5874.msg27969.html.

Adding these two features would make this really legit!

Suggestions / Download Folder with Regex
« Last post by dgabrielasa on Today at 09:10:01 AM »
Hey!

Nice torrent client! Switched form utorrent 6 months ago, very satisfied.

It would be nice to have the feature where the download target folder is determined by a regex.
Set of text field pairs
1. textfield: regex which matched against the torrent file name
2. texfield: simple text (like a static path) and the results of the capture groups could be combined , and the result is used as the full save path.

If no match at all, default folder could be used.

I know there are several organiser softwares which are moving files but this would be a much cleaner, simplier solution straight in the torrent client.

Cheers

Yeah empty and unchecked. Looked before posting, also I've never used them. Haven't seen any further log entries like this though.

On another note, could you copy the below layout for qbittorrent's mouse over the tray icon? I think ATM it's a bit spartan and can be improved by mirroring uTorrent's mouse over info. Cheers.

Windows / All downlods are gone from the app
« Last post by HMR on May 23, 2018, 09:41:44 AM »
Hi,
Question's in subject,
Desktop has hanged, had to restart it manually. After that, I don't see a single download in qBittorrent app, anymore. Everything is blank in the main app window, and everything is 0 (zero) in the left panels.
The downloaded files and torrents are still on in the same folders as they were. Settings are set up to those folders' paths, too. Files exist, but qBittorrent app just does not see them, somehow.
Can you help me to fix it?
Used to use 3.3.16 portable version, changed to 4.1.0 portable. Thought it'd help but no.
Windows 7 x64
Thanks!!

Linux / Re: Migrating from Transmission to qBittorrent
« Last post by rumanzo on May 22, 2018, 10:24:58 PM »
I was planning to migrate from Transmission to qBittorrent, but the problem is that I have over 6000 torrents.
Is there any practical way to transfer all those torrents with most of their information intact, especially the save paths and filenames (I have renamed a lot of them).
Is the problem still relevant?

Windows / Re: Queuing still not working in v4.1.0

Well, of course, if your max active torrents is 25 but you have less than 25 torrents in your client they will all be showing as seeding obviously. But if you had more than 25 torrents then everything above 25 would be queued and you'll not be registered by the tracker as a seed for those torrents. I just saw that exact case on a private tracker.

But like I said above, if I enter a value other than -1 in the number of max active torrents, the 'Do not count slow...' doesn't work, the torrents never turn to 'seeding', and I've tried thresholds from 1 KiB/s to 20 KiB/s (!), to no avail.

It does appear that the "Do not count" option ignores the Max setting. qB does appear to respect the upload and download limits. So as long as I set the Max limit to greater or equal to the total number of torrents I am going to use, then queueing works for me. For example, right now even though my max upload is 3, I have 8 listed as seeding as 7 of them aren't currently uploading. For me, queueing works even if the value isn't -1 as you mentioned in the second quote.

Windows / How to make it work on proxy?
« Last post by joe7dust on May 22, 2018, 07:53:33 PM »
The proxy settings look pretty self explanatory but I can't get it to work. I'm using a hotspot app on my phone that requires a proxy. Internet seems to work for everything else with those proxy settings, it is just an ip4 address and port that has to be entered on whatever device is using the hotspot.

Maybe this is how it's supposed to be for qBit, everything works with those settings, all torrents are marked as seeding and all are registered by the tracker. ĀµTorrent works differently so comparing both clients is not useful.

It seems to be working for me, but I'm on a Win 7 machine.

My current settings are Down 2, Up 3, Max 25. I currently have 3 Forced Seeds, one Completed, and 6 Seeding (although no one is downloading). If I change the Max to 4, 2 of the Seeding torrents go to Queued. If I set it to 6, those 2 start seeding again. I can confirm on the trackers that I am registered as a seed for those torrents.
