Windows / High/Large Memory Usage
« on: October 09, 2019, 04:49:37 PM »
qBittorrent is using high/large memory usage of 1.1 GB.
Why?
What configuration settings encourage large memory usage?

Generic / RSS Ignore Subsequent Matches Purpose
« on: November 05, 2016, 04:07:40 PM »
What is the purpose of the RSS Downloader option Ignore Subsequent Matches?  How is it intended to be used?

Is an example of usage for people who download TV episode torrents, watch the episode, delete the episode after watching, and then don't want the RSS Downloader to re-download that episode?

Linux / How do I change from unstable to stable version?
« on: December 09, 2015, 06:52:08 PM »
I want to switch from the unstable version to the stable version.

I removed the unstable PPA.
I added the stable PPA.
I did the apt update.
I did the apt upgrade.
But QBT did not change, and I'm still running the 3.3.0 beta.

What do I need to do?

Linux / How to prevent QBT from starting when payload folder unavailable?
« on: December 09, 2015, 06:28:25 PM »
How do I prevent QBT from starting when my payload folder is not available?

I have my "save files location" (payload) as a mount point.
Sometimes the mounted location is not yet available.
When QBT launches, and the location isn't available, it marks all the torrents incomplete.
After I mount the location, I then have to re-check all my torrents...which takes a very long time.

What I want to do is prevent QBT from starting if the "save files location" payload location is unavailable, so it won't mark all the torrents incomplete, and won't make me do a recheck.

How?

Thanks,
Jake

Linux / Execution Log Location (v3.3.0 beta)
« on: October 04, 2015, 04:00:29 AM »
Where is the log stored?

I have the configuration setting:
ExecutionLog\enabled=true

I checked /var/log/ but nothing like qbittorrent shows up.

Linux / Multiple config files for user and service accounts?
« on: September 28, 2015, 07:56:28 PM »
Are there potential problems running QBT as a daemon service (e.g. qbtuser) for the webui, and also logging in to the GUI version from a different account (e.g. jake)?
Or if the webui isn't running, but I start the GUI version?

I'm suspicious because I noticed QBT is storing config/resume data under the user accounts.  And having multiple config/resume files would cause me problems.  In the example above, notice the webui and gui run under difference user accounts.

Thanks,
Jake

Linux / How to run qbittorrent-nox on startup using systemd?
« on: September 25, 2015, 10:59:35 PM »
I'm following these directions to setup QBT to start on boot.

The directions say:

Quote
Warning! Ubuntu 15.04 switched to Systemd, do not use the script below with 15.04, it will be corrected.

How do I use systemd to automatically start QBT as a service during startup/boot?
Or do I ignore the warning and proceed with the init.d script?

Thanks,
Jake

Linux / Did QBT move my torrents?
« on: September 25, 2015, 03:22:45 AM »
I think QBT moved my torrents, and not exactly sure why, or how to recover without losing data.

It is either because:
1) I was in the middle of upgrading to the unstable repository.  Not sure how to check the version.
2) I rebooted the server.  The torrent directory wasn't mounted.  QBT started.

Now I'm left with my torrents in two locations.
The big problem is that I don't have storage space for duplicating all my torrents.

Why did this happen?

How do I recover?
I don't want to re-download all my torrents either!

Thanks,
Jake

Windows / Lost all my torrents
« on: September 20, 2015, 02:23:54 AM »
Lost all my torrent payloads.

I also see some of the torrents have a seed ratio of 9,999.00

Any ideas?

The last thing I was doing was using the RSS Downloader, but it could be a coincidence.

Linux / WebUI won't save HTTPS certificate key
« on: August 13, 2015, 05:09:53 AM »
I'm trying to save the SSL key and certificate from the WebUI.  But QBT won't save it.  There are no error messages describing the problem using the WebUI.

[CAUSE]
The problem is generating the key/certificate using GENRSA.
GENRSA requires a password, and QBT won't accept the key/certificate.

[SOLUTION]
The solution is to generate a key/certificate using x509.

For more information:  Linux WebUI setting up HTTPS with self signed SSL certificates.  The steps need to be updated to reflect the above soultion.

Linux / Service Won't Start
« on: August 13, 2015, 03:50:40 AM »
I'm having problems getting QBT to start as a service.

I can see the qbittorrent-nox process running.
I cannot access QBT webui.

Generic / Upload/Download on local network only
« on: June 16, 2015, 11:32:46 PM »
I only want to exchange torrents over my local network.
Is there a way for QBT to only communicate with peers on the local network?
Is there a way for QBT to make local peers a priority?
