4.1.3 currently. I can't recall the last version I had, but it had been the most recent.

Oh well...
I won't be doing any new upgrades unless there's a damn good reason. The old version was working fine, but the new version did have that problem I could only solve by nuclear methods.  8)  Nah... in the future, I'll just stick w/ the older version until I HAVE to change.

Man oh man...
I hope that someone w/ a lot more experience w/ this problem would post a reply so I can go back and mark it 'SOLVED'. I just spent an hour checking forums (here, and on github) w/ no resolution.

SO! The problem:
I just upgraded to 4.1.3 and when it rebooted, all 168 torrents started redownloading. I tried the suggestions that were posted on github and this forum but no go. SO! I just deleted all the torrents and started over. I'm OK w/ that b/c my stats showed I uploaded 2x the volume of torrents I d/loaded, so I at least did my part. I have all my files, I just can't share them.

If some wizard out there could post a solution to this problem using small words for noobs such as I it would be swell. If not, nbd; I did put back up what I had gotten, but there's gotta be a solution to this problem. BTW Wizard...wth causes this to start with? Just askin'...

Anyway... I also sent USD $ to the gang. I wish it was more; but I'm gonna be making annual contribs to the project. Using qBit's like being married... drives you absolutely crazy sometimes...so much you want to punch out a wall...but I ain't going anywhere else b/c this is the best I ever had.

Windows / Qbit is redownloading most of my 50 files
« on: October 31, 2017, 05:23:19 pm »
Hi

I'm new on these boards and I'm having a problem. I tried searching on Google, plus using the search bar in this forum to no avail.

I had been downloading a torrent all night (not too many seeders have love for Mr. Robot Season 1... :( ) This AM when I moved my laptop, I forgot to shut it down, but disconnected the aux HD. That made qBit go red in the listing pane. No prob, I thought...I'll just shut it down.

OK- I see the first problem! I THOUGHT it was okay... grrrr.

Anyway, when I restarted qBit later (after reattching the HD) it is now redownloading just about all 50 torrents I had been seeding.

50 d/l at once makes for VERY SLOOOOW downloads, no? Sheesh.

So, my question to the class is:
Is there a way I can have qBit just run checks? Or do I have to let it d/l all over again? There's some other files I want to d/l, but I won't until I have this problem fixed.

Or should I delete all the torrents and start fresh? I'm pretty sure I can do that. My reason for hesitating on that is I'm only at a ratio of 46 and I don't think it's fair for me to d/l and not seed.

I'll be having a few (HA!) other questions on this program's behavior later.

OK- I'll ask JUST ONE MORE! HONEST!

Is there a User Guide available that has best practices for Downloading and sharing vis a vis qbit settings? One that assumes the reader has limited experience and knowledge in torrenting?

Thanks for your time.
