If you experience "freezing of the gui" try using the below build made using boost 1.55. (please report if you still experience freezing UI)

Thanks Sledge, i will test it out and let you know. The freezes seem to happen sporadicly so it might take a little time before it happens.

Hey Sledge, would it be possible for you to compile the 3.2.0 alpha with Boost 1.55? I am suffering from the "freezing of the GUI" bug and would love to run the latest alpha without my GUI occasionally hanging.

Not every beta build is being released under windows but I get your point; it would be handy to test the beta builds as windows users to find bugs and help to improve/fix it in the upcoming releases. Would be nice to get some ''hands on'' at the windows beta builds  :) .

My point exactly, so more bugs can get squashed before releasing a final version that still has some bugs left. Improving the releases by quality over quantity.

Windows / qBittorrent beta builds for Windows
« on: February 09, 2011, 05:28:49 pm »
Question, where are the beta builds of qBittorrent for Windows? I can see the source package that is available which are probably easy to compile on Linux, but why aren't there any pre-compiled beta's available for Windows so the Windows users can test and report bugs?

Hmm yesterday after completing the torrent at a private tracker I uploaded 1:1 ratio but at the site I saw only that I uploaded 75% of the file which is weird, btw my first private torrent with qBittorrent. I waited a bit to see if it changes but didnt change; my ratio of the file isn't reported correctly. Immediatly tested with another client and uploaded the another 25% so im back to 1:1 ratio atleast. What could be the issue?

I can confirm, same problem here, also download ratio isn't reported correctly.

Windows / Banned peers from corrupt data sending.
« on: January 25, 2011, 11:11:34 am »
Where can i find those IP addresses that are banned by qBittorrent and manage them? I've looked everywhere in the options of qBittorrents, and in:

C:Program FilesqBittorrent
C:Documents and Settings<username>Application DataqBittorrent
C:Documents and Settings<username>Local SettingsApplication DataqBittorrent

but nowhere can i find a list where the IP addresses are stored so i can manage them. The only files that are somehow related to it and have banned peers codes in them are the fastresume files in C:Documents and Settings<username>Local SettingsApplication DataqBittorrent, but i cannot find a complete list with just IP addresses. Does anybody knows where this is stored and where i can find it?

Windows / [Solved] qBittorrent 2.6+ crash and bugs
« on: January 14, 2011, 10:34:37 am »
After upgrading to 2.6.1 and then to 2.6.2 from qBittorrent 2.5.3 I'm experiencing some very huge bugs and a show stopper crash, since i can no longer add new torrents -> no new downloads. I'm running Windows XP SP3, fully updated.

1) Crash after adding new torrent file, via a downloaded torrent file, or a torrent i searched in qBittorrent, all results in a crash once i added it, some BEX error i can see in the Windows error report.

2) I can no longer prioritize the contents inside a active torrent, the options are not available anymore like don't download, normal, high, maximum, only rename is there and works.

3) I can no longer apply super seeding mode via right click once a torrent is finished downloading. No error or anything, just nothing happens. Normally you would see super seeding mode checked with a v but now nothing at all.

Anybody else experiencing the same problems or has advice to fix these problems?

Suggestions / Re: Some suggestions/ideas for qBittorrent

Thanks for the reply. Yes, i saw the strict super seeding option and enabled it, but it would be nice to know what exactly does it do / is different next to the "normal" super seeding? If i go by the name of the setting alone, it makes me believe it is not forced super seeding, rather a alternate way to super seed a torrent.

There is an update feature for win users. But please no flame, it is a first of all Linux cleint.

The update feature for Windows doesn't seem to work for me. I still have to manual update it  Hopefully this will start to work in the future.

Another thing i noticed, if i setup qBittorrent to use a fixed port for torrents, and a fixed port for DHT/PeX/etc... I can see it uses the correct fixed port for DHT/PeX/etc... but for torrents it just uses random ports that are all over the place instead of the one fixed port i set up to use. It would be nice to see that correctly implemented as well.

Anyway, so far, amazing client, i love it. Keep up the good work.

Suggestions / Some suggestions/ideas for qBittorrent
« on: December 16, 2010, 12:58:55 pm »
Some suggestions/ideas which will make qBittorrent even more complete and more interesting for new users (in my eyes).

- Auto-update feature.
- Forced seeding plus forced super seeding, useful for private trackers so i do not loose the connection to the tracker so they will not think i hit and runned if there are no other connected to me. Also useful if you upload a torrent yourself, so the tracker keeps on seeing a seed.
- Extra encryption settings, plain or RC4 encryption.
- Extra encryption setting, allow/disallow incoming/outgoing non-encrypted connections.
- Global max/min download/upload speed settings for a torrent, so i don't have to configure it per torrent manually every time i start a new torrent.
- isoHunt search plugin (one that works).

Hi btw, i am new. So far i love qBittorrent, sleek interface, almost enough options (i'm working on some suggestions/ideas), and good speeds. Keep up the good work!  ;)
