Your original .torrent file can go where ever.
qBittorrent has its own stored list of .torrent files, but it's hard to sift through since their filenames are their hash instead of what you named them.
Windows / An question about location of a .torrent and file

Hey all, i've just started to use qB and torrents in general, and i have an question - if i created a .torrent from a file and my purpose is to upload it on a tracker and seed it , should they both located in a same folder? Because right now my .torrent is located on C: disk and file is located on D: disk.  Should i put my .torrent file to a folder with the file or i can leave it like that?
Windows / How to reseed torrents downloaded in the past
« Last post by Progman on October 19, 2019, 09:01:25 PM »
1. How do i reseed a torrents i downloaded from a tracker in the past in order to seed it so others can upload them from me again? I have the ".torrent" files and the downloaded folders. I especially do not want the files to be downloaded again because i am afraid that the tracker will count it as a new download.
2. How do i reseed these files when they are located in different disc drives without first putting them all in one download folder? In QBT options there is only one directory for downloaded content.

Thanks in advance.
MAC / Re: How to migrate from uTorrent to qBittorent on iMac?

I am looking for the Global Rate limits for uploads and downloads. Also, Global maximum number of connections and maximum number of connections per torrent.

Still unable to have a torrent open qbittorrent automatically. I have to go to downloads folder and start it from there. Any ideas?
Linux / Qbittorrent font size does no respect my system's preferences

I know it says "Don't report bugs" but I'm not sure this is a bug yet.
I'm on Mint 19.2 and Qbittorrent's 4.18, and QB's UI doesn't seem to respect wither the system font size I had set (14pt) or the OS theme.
You can see the issue in the attached file.

For starters, I just want to know, is this what everyone is experiencing or is this some glitch on my system specifically?
And if this is a universal thing, is there a way to change/fix the issue and make QB use the OS theme and font sizes?
MAC / Bizarre download speed variations
« Last post by pjgross on October 19, 2019, 04:45:16 PM »
Hi all,

I have been using qbit for two weeks and i keep getting bizarre fluctuations in download speed. Within seconds speed goes from, for instance, 23 kb/s to 6 Mb/s.

Does anyone have a clue?

Thank you in advance,

MAC / Re: Use of uTP (Micro Transport Protocol)

Thanks Peter,
would you recommend uTP only or TCP and uTP? Lets say for people with 5mB/sec average.

well, the official article is probably the best: (it's a good read, short too)

Basically, it tries to self-regulate so the traffic does not slow down even with max speeds and stuff.
It just works. So it should be used practically all the time? There are really no downsides to it IMO.
Some super hardcore seeders swear by only TCP, but they use servers with 10 HDD RAID arrays, 1gbps (or faster) connection, etc. And they connect to an enterprise router/switch. So in their case, when they want to squeeze every last drop out of their connection, TCP might be beneficial, as the PC is super fast, the connection is fast, router is super fast, etc.

But for any other person, connection, I'd just recommend uTP.
