Re: Can qbittorrent write to disk like Utorrent

qBitTorrent v4.4.x will use libtorrent 2.0 and it's not working well so far:

Re: Seeding Stalled- won't upload

Is qBitTorrent reporting itself as firewalled?

Can you run a test seeding torrent with a friend to confirm you cannot upload at all?

Re: Seeding Stalled- won't upload

If you're very careful with what torrents are manually started/stopped so there's not too many or too few at once, you can try disabling Torrent Queueing (it's under Options, BitTorrent in qBitTorrent.) There are a couple ways a queue of torrents can "snarl up" such as from unfinished and ...

Re: Download speed issues

Most bandwidth tests give results in megabits/second.

qBitTorrent measures speeds in MegaBytes/second.

It takes about 8.3-9.5 megabits/second upload bandwidth to reach 1 MegaByte/second upload speed in qBitTorrent.

Re: Avast blocks potential botnet

This is no different than if in your web browser was viewing a spam email which included a picture (or worse) loaded from a "hostile" website. ...And Avast then decided to block/close/delete your web browser. Your post was unclear what happened... Was qBitTorrent?: 1. temporarily blocked.....

"Potentially unwanted app removed" implies Microsoft KNOWS this isn't a trojan...it's only potentially unwanted, such as in a business office.

Re: Connections Limits Understanding (Urgent Help needed!!)

It is improper to completely quote the post right above yours, at least in its entirety. Bad enough people have to read my long post once. :P (a) Max number of connections being equal for both per torrent and global would not be an issue unless both numbers were low, like 20 or less. Even with only ...

Re: Connections Limits Understanding (Urgent Help needed!!)

If you set max connections per torrent the same as the global max... When you have 1 or more really busy torrents and a few torrents that might only have 1-4 peers/seeds, then the really busy torrents can "eat up" all the connections and leave nothing for the other torrents. Unless you can...

Re: qB 4.3.8 Memory Usage

At least under windows 7, under Windows Task Manager, you can turn on extra columns to track various changes/values/features for each .EXE running. While the Processes tab is selected, up top I click on View (next to File and Options), then Select Columns. There's a LOT of optional items you could a...

Re: qB 4.3.8 Memory Usage

Getting to the bottom of the problem... There may be more than a memory "leak" here. Use Windows Task Manager to check GDI Objects, User Objects, Handles (tend to be on a per open file basis), and lastly Threads that qBitTorrent is using. qBitTorrent may be going bonkers after a few hours ...

You can keep all the resume files and you don't have to reinstall qBitTorrent. Only qBT's settings files need to be replaced and those are found in... https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/wiki/Frequently-Asked-Questions#Where_does_qBittorrent_save_its_settings Something like this: C:\Documents...

Re: qB 4.3.8 Memory Usage

I still have uTorrent crash my computer due to out-of-memory conditions. But I only have 12 GB ram...and Firefox is typically more to blame than uTorrent at those times. :P "I do not see a setting for MEMORY/PAGING priority, I meant BASE Priority (in Task Manager). I do not see anything regardi...

Re: Please just make paused Completed Torrents Inert already

A partial workaround is back up qBitTorrent's settings and resume files.
