Re: Downloading torrents kill my internet?

Hi dragons4life, I suspect your modem is not the problem. If you do not need wireless 5 GHz then I recommend this router. http://www.amazon.com/RT-N16-Wireless-N-Maximum-Performance-single/dp/B00387G6R8 running Tomato either Toastman or Shibby builds. I use Toastman builds. This router has allot of ...

Re: Questions about proxy use

Cioababy, I think waybacks question relates to keeping qB from using IPv6, not disabling it for all apps. Therefore I believe fixing the network interface would accomplish what the user wants. I missed the setting that Sledge suggests. This would also accomplish disabling IPv6 and still allow qB to ...

Re: Questions about proxy use

Hi wayback, OK here is the deal. The latest official release will not protect you. If the connection to your proxy fails, then it will revert to using your wan ip from your ISP. The reason for this is a change in libtorrent. The anonymous mode setting used to force the proxy to be used and if it fai...

Well I feel like a dumb ass. Of course that is why. I enabled mine so long ago that I forgot it was not displayed by default.

Execution Log

Hi everyone,

I just set up a friends mac mini with qB. I am using littletree76's 3.2 alpha version. It is working OK but I do not see the execution log tab. Is there supposed to be one on the mac side? Thanks...

Re: Compiling latest qBittorrent with MacPorts package manager

Hi Littletree,

So does this mean you have successfully built Alpha version 3.2.0 qbittorrent with branch version 1.0.3 of libtorrent? Or is your latest alpha release based on libtorrent 1.0.2? Thanks...

Re: Anonymous Setting

Hi khk4dt5, I recommend you run the 3.2 alpha version that I currently run. This release has anonymous and force proxy settings separated in libtorrent 1.0.+. In this release none of the qB settings are disabled by the anonymous setting. qB lets Libttorrent disable what connections should be disable...

Re: Proxy Socks5 (BTguard)

Arvid, I will try and answer your questions as best I can... I'm pretty sure you don't mean your external IP changed 17 times, the IP of the proxy you talked to changed 17 times. Yes the Proxy IP changed 17 times. I use the term External IP because that is what qBittorent calls the Proxy IP in the l...

Re: Proxy Socks5 (BTguard)

Arvid, I have just finished a test run with the patched version Sledge provided. I used the 3.2 alpha version with libtorrent 1.0.2. The test was run for about 17 hours. Unfortunately the test is inconclusive. I experienced the same behavior as Reply #18 in this thread. It seems that qbittorrent/lib...

Re: Proxy Socks5 (BTguard)

Arvid, here is the wireshark capture you requested. I have changed my password after the capture as you suggested. I am also attaching a screen shot of qB displaying the log. You will see that the External IP changed at 6:43 AM. This should help you narrow down where to look in the wireshark capture...

Re: Proxy Socks5 (BTguard)

ciaobaby, I was not running wireshark on this run to monitor the External IP change. However the change has been picked up by qbittorrent/libtorrent on all of my previous runs. I just assumed that on this run it did not change. Just because the BitTorrent protocol was developed to handle this kind o...

Re: Proxy Socks5 (BTguard)

I have had qB running for over 18 hours and the External IP has not changed. I find this very odd considering the last couple of runs it changed multiple times in a much shorter time frame. The interesting thing is that DHT peers have gone from 120+ to 0 again but this time without the External IP c...

ciaobaby, Once again thanks for the education on 0.0.0.0. I seems this can be used in several scenarios according to the wiki page you sent me.

Re: Display External IP sooner in log

Yes Arvid. In failure.jpg, it would be very helpful to have the error contain the actual IP address that was used in the connection attempt. Would it be possible to replace 0.0.0.0 with the resolved IP address? In success.jpg, I can also see no harm in replacing 0.0.0.0 with the resolved IP address ...

Re: Proxy Socks5 (BTguard)

Hi Sledge and thanks for weighing in. I am with you man, me either. I will do as you suggest and ask Arvid. ciaobaby, I am not using BT Guard. I am using Private Internet Access. I am not sure if they do things the same way as BT Guard. What I do know is that libtorrent is constantly updating DHT pe...
