Too many open files

For a long time now, the last several versions at least, when I open the GUI I almost always get an error message saying that Python is needed for the search engine, but could not be found. Of course Python is installed, and when I try again it usually works. When I start from the command line I get...

Re: 4.1.7 out?

Switched over to Linux and the PPA has been updated as well. No problems there with 4.1.7 so far.

Re: 4.1.7 out?

I think you can safely eliminate your hijacking option, xta, as we're talking multiple users and multiple sites. Compromise is a possibility, but hacking the credentials for both SF and FH would also be pretty unlikely. What is more likely (and I should have mentioned this in my first post) is that ...

Feature request: Different torrents share progress for same file/pieces

I love qBittorrent, and have been using it for years, but every once in a while I like to see what's out there. I tried Vuze recently, and while it has enough things I didn't like to rule it out for day to day use, one feature it had that I really liked was the ability to recognize when more than on...

Feature request: Export torrent file as modified

I often will import a torrent file and find that the name of the torrent itself and/or the name(s) of the downloaded file(s) are not sufficiently descriptive, so I modify them in qBittorrent. This all works fine. But then let's say that I archive that torrent, and then later on I want to re-verify i...

Re: Help setting up qBittorrent

It's possible that you're asking for something that no one is seeding, try downloading the latest version of a Linux distro.

Re: cant seem to get any downloads or upload

It's possible that you're asking for something no one is seeding. Try downloading the latest version of a Linux release (even if you're not interested in it). Guaranteed that will be seeded, so you can test to see if you have connectivity.

Re: qBittorrent failed listening on interface 0.0.0.0 port: TCP/45433

0.0.0.0 is basically shorthand for "any available interface." I assume in your example that 192.168.0.101 is your internal IP address from your local access point, router, etc. Those connections in CLOSE_WAIT state are remote clients that didn't play nicely with the TCP rules, and haven't closed the...

4.1.7 out?

My running 4.1.6 client notified me that there is a 4.1.7 version out, so I downloaded it from https://www.fosshub.com/qBittorrent.html. I then went to look at the main site, and the ribbon still says 4.1.6, no mention in the News, and the Download page still has 4.1.6. Is this new version legitimat...

Re: Deleting the .torrent file when removing files from the transfer list

I assume that in the Downloads options you have the "Copy .torrent files to:" option checked? Either that, or "Copy .torrent files for finished downloads to:" option? If you never want to save the .torrent files, you can make sure both of those are unchecked. That said, I leave the first option chec...

"Checking resume data" when adding a torrent

For some time now I've been running into an issue where sometimes if I add a torrent that already has something downloaded, qbt will do a check, then it will enter a loop where it will continuously restart the check with the message "Checking resume data." If the torrent is completely downloaded it ...
