Re: Why there's a "cookie" feature in bittorrent?

Some RSS feeds require cookie based authentication in order to be able to pull data properly. In the past, there was some basic attempts at handling these cases but it wasn't globally managed, seemingly tied to individual torrent sessions as a workaround. This wasn't really as robust as it could hav...

Re: created a forum account last week but it got deleted

You haven't done anything wrong. Recently the site went down and had to be restored from a backup. A small period of time between the backup and the site going down had data that was not recovered, and this likely was when you created your account. Things like account deletions and bans would result...

Re: seeing the status of the listening port

A port cannot be tested from within the LAN on if it's open or closed. It can only be checked from the outside by attempting to communicate with that port.

Re: qBittorrents behaviour with completed but moved torrents

sometimes qbt marks a completed-but-moved torrent as non-started at 0.0%; and sometimes it correctly shows them as "Errored". I haven't been able to reproduce it reliably. I suspect this has more to do with if it happened to be attempting to seed a block at the time of the move, and it suddenly is ...

Re: Can't transfer from torrentproject2.se

I'd suggest making an issue on the relevant search plugin github repository so they know of the issue.

It appears it might be this one, but you should probably double check with the plugin details that you have installed:

Re: qBittorrents behaviour with completed but moved torrents

It's the more explicit and correct behaviour of the two, so it's very likely intentional. You could ask the devs in a github issue ticket to make sure, but I doubt this will change as the behaviour would ensure people are not mistaken about the state of the files and it's readiness to seed even befo...

Re: Percentage calculations

Thanks, but I really want to see the data from my own program, not the UI. Then you'll want to use the API. You can find the docs for it here . You can get all the current torrent states through the /sync/maindata endpoint . The first request will provide a full set of data and any subsequent reque...

Re: Around for some quite time

Forum post approval is enabled due to a large number of bot posts hitting the forum in the past couple of months. It's died down a little bit thanks to the work that Peter has put in, with things like adding the approval queue, tweaking settings, updating the forum and using now the Cloudflare CDN. ...

You can select the default save directory in Options > Downloads > Default Save Path.

Note: Moved topic to general Windows help forum rather than QA one, since it's not specific to beta builds.

Re: qBittorrent does not respect the umask set under the user that it runs as

It appears you got a solution in the discord, but for the sake of adding the info to the forum for easy viewing by others, the suggestion was to add something similar to the following to the Run external program on torrent completion option (found in Preferences > Downloads):

Code: Select all

chmod -R 775 %R

Re: Percentage calculations

You can access the Web UI to be able to see all your torrents progress data and status'. To enable the Web UI, go to Preferences > Web UI > Web User Interface (Remote control). You'll be able to visit the Web UI in a browser by navigating to the local IP of the host machine while on your network and...

Re: connection problem: UPnP/NAT-PMP: Port mapping failure, message: could not map port using UPnP: no router found

I have same problem with UPnP with version 4.2.0 as dreot As dreot said the issue was resolved as of v4.2, and you're saying you do have a similar issue, the problem isn't likely the same one. Gather and share any relevant logs from your own client execution log and provide full info on your client...

Re: Question About SOCKS5 Proxy

When you add the proxy server configuration, qbittorrent will strictly only use valid proxy connections. If the proxy is down, there's no valid connections for it to use, so there'll be no communication and the torrents won't work.
