Re: It would be better for new users if the qBittorent team put the famous qbt-themes as in-client skins you can choose

Please open a Github ticket about this on both projects (IF there are no existing tickets already). First, you have to ask "jagannatharjun" for permission. Whether qBittorrent can include the themes - and on what license terms. And once permission has been granted, you should make a ticket...

Re: Missing Python Runtime (search)

You can check out how Python detection works: https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorr ... gnapps.cpp

Maybe you should add the actual Python folder to the PATH?
But as you can see, the code by default checks quite a few locations/places (like registry). I'd try PATH.

Re: Run external program on program quit.

That's a pretty tough suggestion since most people close qBittorrent when their PC shuts down.
You could simply create a super stupid simple script.

> run whatever you want (move files, copy files, hack NASA, destroy the planet, etc.)
> kill qbittorrent

And then you'd just use that shortcut.

Re: MKV files in Folder not recognized?

Nothing, it should make a torrent file out of EVERYTHING. I am fairly sure you are making a mistake somewhere... double-check the path and everything please. Like, clients (incl. qBittorrent) don't care about file extension. They just hash all the files they find and then output a .torrent.

Re: How to reduce laptop heat while using qbittorrent?

Damn that's some nice detailed data there! Appreciate it! Yeah some laptops suck ass in terms of repairs. I had an ASUS, it literally died if you took it apart. The ribbon cables were fragile, the screws were almost ALL different, etc. It was designed to break. Like there were screw holes where IF y...

Re: the qbittorrent webui is not working properly when the system is upgraded to Debian 11 from Debian 10

Dear friends My qbittorrent webui is not working properly when the system is upgraded from Debian 10 to Debian 11 today. 1. Torrent list display incomplete. 2. The data in the left and bottom status bar is not displayed. If you are using the Debian packaged version, you might need to report this at...

Re: Is there to limit the time a particular torrent can download?

Well you could toggle the alternate speeds where you would limit upload and only enable download or whatever. But how to toggle that? Well, qbittorrent has an API. With Python, and the library, you could literally do this in a one-liner. See: https://qbittorrent-api.readthedocs.io/en/latest/apidoc/t...

Re: How to reduce laptop heat while using qbittorrent?

I think you called it on turbo causing the temperature rise. Since limiting CPU to 99% the CPU has stayed mostly below 150°F (never over 170°F), and the fan hasn't spun up too full jet engine mode. I'll still replace the thermal paste this weekend. I wish I had known about that turbo mode issue yea...

Re: How to reduce laptop heat while using qbittorrent?

I do have a lot of spare RAM. Does writing to the harddrive frequently vs in larger chunks make any difference in terms of CPU and heat generation? Not really. I have set my external USB HDD as the temp path and destination for all torrents. Does qbittorrent still write anything to the main interna...

Re: How to define RELATIVE directory paths for download/save directory?

You could write a simple .BAT file in the same folder as the .exe that'd replace the path in the ini files to the current drive letter.

Re: How to reduce laptop heat while using qbittorrent?

1) You should repaste + clean your laptop. If you are uncomfortable with that, please seek out a professional repair center. HP will do it for you, maybe even for free. They take good care of their Elitebook machines. These machines have excellent cooling and these coolings (copper, fan) don't degra...

Re: Coreelec box and USB 3.0 SSD instead of HDD

Torrent does not do sequential writes. Ie.: Torrent will write and read blocks left and right. Two things: 1) You can use your local HDD/SSD as a temporary folder (see Settings) and then qBittorrent will copy the files over once they are downloaded. Theoretically, this should be much faster. 2) You ...

Re: How do I merge 2 seperate qBittorrent systems

You can't.

I'd just copy all the actual data to the new "main PC" and then just copy over all the .torrent files affected.
Put the data into the default download dir, and all torrents via the "Watch folder" feature.

Then just wait until it all rechecks.
