Re: Any way to remove or edit category list in 3.3.7 ?

There actually is an easy way to do so:

In qBittorrent's sidebar, right-click on any category and click on "Remove unused categories". In order to do so, you have to have the field "Categories" activated.
If that what I described above does not work, try removing each unused category one by one.

Re: Country flags missing!

Hi there. The problem did not get unnoticed. I already opened an issue on qBittorrent's GitHub-page with the same problem: https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/5609 Another user posted a quote of their logs, saying the same as my logs did: https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issu...

Re: Vpns

I wouldn't necessarily say "Stay away from free ones", but "Rather use one of the VPNs you pay for than a free one." You do not know what they do with the information they receive of you (IP-address, maybe some cookies and whatnot), as they have to generate money in order to keep the VPN-servers ali...

Re: Time Warner Cable shut off my internet

Best weapon of choice: VPN. What VPN? Well, that is your thing. People often recommend Private Internet Access . If you 'pirate' movies/music with qBittorrent, use a VPN. Using no VPN only is recommended when the content you download is allowed to be shared via BitTorrent (such as various Linux dist...

Re: "Slow" speeds in LAN

To add a little more, qB to x seems really unstable without any reason, and results in really slow speeds.
On LAN it really slows down, while other torrent clients are up and awake, and use the speed they have available. Please, there has to be some clue behind this...

Re: Port Forwarding

Bruh. Please stop writing in caps only, IT LOOKS LIKE WE ARE SCREAMING AT EACH OTHER. Secondly, using Google certainly would help to find one of those guides, e.g. "Port Forwarding [Insert your router/modem model here]". It is just like that, and there is no other way to explain it. Also, search for...

Re: External IP is my real IP before switching under VPN

My reply wasn't really meant to help anyone but the discussion. I just kinda needed to throw in my thoughts, as it finally seemed I wasn't alone with the problem. So it's just additional information I liked to provide, unfortunately not for the final solution I guess. What OS are you using, anyway? ...

Re: External IP is my real IP before switching under VPN

Hey there. I noticed the same problem, but did not bother that much. I used PeerBlock to block certain peers I do not like to be connected to (e.g. China, India, Egypt, South Africa - they mostly just fill up the peer list without really participating in the transfer) Using PeerBlock, it shows the "...

Re: "Slow" speeds in LAN

I guess every single of my "analysis" were unnecessary. People at Reddits /r/torrents sometimes complain about qBittorrent's slower speeds (both upload and download), and search for alternatives, albeit this speed problem is the only problem as it seems. As a summary, it does not seem to be the libt...

Re: "Slow" speeds in LAN
Only diff in qbittorent and deluge in regards to libtorrent is the build version, qbt uses an arbitrary "working" build of libtorrent 1.0.8 and deluge builds with 1.0.9 last i looked.
afaik the most recent version (which came out in September 2015) came with libtorrent 1.0....

Re: "Slow" speeds in LAN
/e2: A possible suggestion would be disc useage/overload causing the slow transfer cap? I believe qbittorent "sanity checks" pieces alot more frequently than utorrent/qbittorent. If you're using a small piece size in a single seed/peer case it can lead to a slower transfer rate. [/q...

Re: "Slow" speeds in LAN

Okejjjj Ciaobaby, alright. I'll post the settings of qBittorrent later, as they also apply for all the other clients. I'm going to edit this post in some hours again, as I am quite busy now (other than writing this reply). // On the other hand, Ciaobaby, a simple reply with "We need more information...

"Slow" speeds in LAN

Recently, I transferred some files to my laptop from my desktop over the Local Area Network. My desktop has a LAN-line (100mbit/s) directly to the router, my laptop has the best connectivity to the WiFi (72mbit/s - 802.11n) To get to the point, I tried different BitTorrent-clients (µTorrent, Deluge ...

Re: Right io then! ... ... ...
I mean, really? Just HOW exactly is anybody going to be "helpful" to that question????
You sure have a point there. It is hard not to give a (more or less) 'stupid' answer to a stupid question indeed. And sure it is up to you how to answer on such questions. Yet the respo...
