Re: List of files in torrent don't appear when using magnet URI

Why is there such a long list of patches at requests? :(

Site talk

Alright, made a mistake there. Removed the topic where we were talking about the problems. Sorry. (I'll install an undelete mod later on, as it is _really_ easy to remove topics/things.) So I took the matter in my hands and: - Added a whitelist for registration mails. It's Outlook/Hotmail/Gmail so f...

Re: Spammers

#Update: And there we have it. Prevention text fixed, database cleaned. Anything else? So far today: - Emptied out not-valid accounts that we had. (not valid mail, 0 posts) - Emptied out unused accounts. (0 last login) - Cleaned up the database (40+ MB shaved off! 95% of the database.) - Added the &...

But I won't make the transfer in the next few days. I'll mark a date in advance, etc.

Re: Spammers

They are using valid, but own custom domains. Like "123 @ onemoar.com" and so on. Maybe if I would ONLY allow Gmail and Hotmail addresses... I'll have to look our database up. In a week I'll clean it out (like remove all the unused accounts, throw out spammers, clean logs), and then I'll c...

Re: Forum Software:

When the site started way back then, I used phpBB for the first install. Then we moved to SMF. As every single open-source software, forum engines are like a roller coaster ride. Sometimes they fix bugs, release new versions, keep the themes AND addons up-to-date. (Security and anti-spam is the most...

Re: The front page should mention prominently that the application is in C++

No it's not. And please, don't attack others directly. qBittorrent is a GUI. It's written in C++, using the Qt toolkit. Underlying, it uses libtorrent, which is also C++. libtorrent does all the hard work, while qBittorrent provides an easy UI. Python is used only for specific tasks, like the Search...

Re: Qbittorrent through VPN

You will be always firewalled through VPNs. You can't become active that way. More info on this if anyone finds this topic: When you use a VPN, you use the VPN's ports. The VPN is closed however. IF it would have open ports (even just for a few clients), they could trace you down. (And if they would...

Re: Spammers

Even Cloudflare shows many spammers getting challenged, but they bypass the Captcha really easily.
I'll look around if there is a better protection. (at Cloudflare level)

Spammers

What happened? Our module seems to be working just fine, and yet we get this many spam posts.
If I do a manual check on them, they are marked clean...

Did they buy a new IPv4 block? Or what the heck?

Re: Upgraded qB to 3.0.9, now a problem

You should always save the files, then load them into whatever you want.
Installer, pictures, torrent files, everything. Files "temporarily" stored can get deleted anytime. (If you click the open, instead of save.)

Re: New user - stalled torrents, trackers not working

No. Passive should still download.
Here it is: http://www.bittorrent.com/help/manual/chapter0203

It looks like the term "passive" and "active" is something only we use in my country. Internationally they just call it "being firewalled".
It's the same thing, really.

Re: Stalled

I started writing an explanation about BTGuard, but then I had to go.
Basically using a proxy will make you passive, thus will give you less peers to connect to.
(Read about passive/active on FAQs on torrent sites.)

But the bug is also there, as Sledgehammer pointed out.
