80's kid trying torrenting again!

Hey guys/gals,
I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I used to torrent back in the day (mid 90's-early 2000's) and am having to relearn a lot of this stuff. It seems torrenting has changed quite a bit with VPN's, proxies, port forwarding, tunneling etc. So I'll probably be asking a few questions on those specific topics
