Hello!

Sometimes when I start up qBitTorrent it has lost the settings I defined and returned back everything to normal except the language who now has turned to swedish (I'm a swede myself).

Why is that? It's actually very annoying and the only thing I did before the restart was scan my computer with Avira Antivirus. Has happened two times now, don't know if I scanned my computer the first time this occured.

I have had the same thing happen multiple times. On Windows 7 x64 with Qbittorrent 3.1.3. Replacing the folders in appdata\local and appdata\roaming with backups gets me my settings back, but it doesn't prevent it from happening again.

Yes. Forgot to mention that I also am running Win7 x64. Running qBitTorrent 3.1.2 though.

Today it happened again. This time I'm sure I didn't do anything at ALL before the reset. I'm getting kind of frustrated that this issue is going unnoticed and that there is no answer from any dev.
I did not change from µtorrent 2.2.1 which worked flawlessly to BitTorrent so that I would experience more problems.

Here is a build of qBittorrent 3.2.0alpha_25122013 from git master with:
boost 1.55
libtorrent 0.16.13(RC_0_16 actually)
openssl: 1.0.1e
qt: 4.8.5

Built using MSVC2008.

This contains a possible fix for when qbt loses the settings.

Im running it since its released without ANY problems. I never had any settings lose either with any version. Perhaps you are using somekind of a cleaner that ''cleans'' and resets the settings.

Our devs are working on it, even if you don't get any answer as you see.

I'm sorry for being so unpleasant earlier. Was uncalled for, and for that I apologize.

Is the alfa version allowed on private trackers? I do not want to jeopardize my account so I think I'll hold onto the latest stable a while more. Feels good that the problem is being acknowledged!

v3.1.4 was released which contains the same fix, go and try it.

For me qBittorrent started to lose settings after I updated to v3.1.4 couple of days ago. It had never lost settings before in other versions. Now it has happened twice.
No other software changes in my system and no any cleaner programs present.

Win8 64bit

EDIT: Lost settings again. Looks like it happens after every time I restart Windows.
EDIT2: This time settings were preserved after Windows restart. Losing settings seems random atm.

It contains an additional fix, that I hoped to solve the issue. Another user already has reported that it doesn't do much but I want you to try it too.

Installed it. Old settings were present.

BUT all my torrents stopped with following error messages:
03/01/2014 18:39:00 - Tapahtui I/O-virhe, 'xxx-monkey-porn.mp4' keskeytettiin.
03/01/2014 18:39:00 - Syy: xxx-monkey-porn.mp4 file (D:/TV/xxx-monkey-porn.mp4) error: Invalid access to memory location

Reverted back to v3.1.4 and everything worked again.

Installing the 31.12.2013 build solved the settings issue for me and everything else seems to work fine as well, no error messages.

I'm on 3.1.4.  Whenever I close, similar thing happens.  I have all the tabs a certain with, then when it restarts, everything is back to default.  annoying.

Does this happen when you manually close the app via file->exit or when you shutdown the OS while the app is running?

It ain't working then

Just upgraded to 3.1.4, hoping to find the interminable checking and having to reboot just to shut the client down.was fixed,  instead I get to reset all the labels etc.

so looks like it's back to 3.0.8 then,

Im wondering why I don't have this settings problem (lucky?) while its been used daily. Shutting down computer sometimes, restarting and starting qBittorrent after a while and everything is still good. Weird..
