Tracker authentication

Post by whiterose115 »

What is Tracker authentication?
Why do I have to give user name and password to:udp://coppersurfer.tk:6969/announce many, many times each day. As soon as I respond it will reappear several minutes later.
I am trying to do the right thing by uploading as much as I download but it is becoming very annoying to be constantly interrupted in anything I am trying to work on.
Uploads are very slow...I have been uploading 2 programs (1.3Gib and 264Mib) for over a week and still only half finished.

Authenticating with a 'private' tracker that you are allowed to access their system.

Most likely because qbittorrent is receiving a "Not Authorized" response status code from the tracker

Uploads may never 'finish', a "finished" status  depends on your ratio settings and how many peers are requesting pieces.

It is a little weird though that you have to enter a user name and a password for an open tracker, as coppersurfer considers itself as such.
As for me, I am seeding fine enough for my available bandwidth (also with coppersurfer as a tracker without any problems!)

Otherwise, ciaobaby explained everything (as usual lol)

Now let me ask some questions he usually asks... maybe it'll help, maybe not.

What is the version of qBittorrent you are using?
Please also check qB's libraries (under "Help">"About">"Libraries") and tell us them.
What is your current OS?

About your seeding issue, check this: https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorr ... ed'-issues
ciaobaby already mentioned some important things, I'll just post it to be a little more sure. :)
