Sparse files on remote folders?

Post by Bob4K »

Hi,

First, congrats on the best torrent client ever!

I noticed the following problem: torrent files downloaded on remote share seem to be extremely fragmented. Accessing these files (to extract subs for example) for the first time on the local machine is 10 times slower than if the file had been download by a local copy of qBittorent rather than a remote one.

I had the same problem, but in local mode, with other torrent clients that create sparse files.

I use a remote qBittorent on my remote machine through RDP, because the remote PC uses a VPN, and the main PC does not, so it's a bit of a problem for me.

I tried to disable the option to pre-allocate the whole file size, but that did not help.

Is there a way to avoid creating sparse files?
