Stalled Torrents - Overnight
Stalled Torrents - Overnight
I have just switched from utorrent and am very impressed but.....
I have set Alternative Rates to work when I leave everything running overnight but in the morning nothing has happened
the new torrents have a status of stalled and the seeding torrents (which were very active during the day) have done nothing.
As I do a lot of seeding overnight this is a big problem for me.

Then why are you using Alternative rate limits? Just cap the upload speed at a proper value for you.

Re: Alternative Rates/Stalled Torrents
I was actually limiting the download speed.
But I don't believe that's causing the problem of no activity overnight.

Re: Stalled Torrents - Overnight
With no solution it's back to utorrent (unfortunately) which works great overnight.
Re: Stalled Torrents - Overnight
During the night nothing upload or download. The new torrent started automatically via RSS but was in a stalled status in the morning.
I've tried this several times and always the same thing happens.
During the day it works great.

Re: Stalled Torrents - Overnight
qBT's settings probably aggravate or trigger this.
What's qBT's ram usage when it stalls?
Does qBT ever max out your connection during the day?

What's qBT's ram usage when it stalls? - No idea, it's the middle of the night. Nothing else is running.
Does qBT ever max out your connection during the day? - No

Re: Stalled Torrents - Overnight
If you leave Windows Task Manager running, qBT's ram usage will still get recorded -- both its current and peak usage as well as virtual memory usage.
I'm thinking maybe qBT's cache overload is causing you the same qBT-is-still-running-but-doing-nothing problem I've seen.

Re: Stalled Torrents - Overnight
OK I'll do that, Is there a solution to the problem?
How do I check "both its current and peak usage as well as virtual memory usage" in task manager?

Re: Stalled Torrents - Overnight
Now my RSS links aren't even starting overnight. Doesn't the program work overnight?
Re: Stalled Torrents - Overnight
It should...but if it has a silent crash like I've seen due to peaking at too much ram usage (from too large a cache size) it probably won't.
Re: Stalled Torrents - Overnight
Small but fixed cache size on qBT 32bit ...or lots of free ram and "go nuts" on qBT 64bit version.
And that's assuming the problem is ram use by qbittorrent.exe itself is too great.
If it's windows own cache breaking somehow or other bugs in qBT (such as in its networking, possibly even with IPv6)...all bets are off until the problem/s can be determined by eliminating other possibilities.
