Where is the new beta and how do we test it ?
Where is the new beta and how do we test it ?
I heard that there's a beta supposed to be released this weekend. It's Sunday already here and I can't seem to find anything at all about it, other than the news page message. Is there any place we can find what new changes are planned ? If it's already a beta, it's not a thing from a day or two. There must be some early notes or something.

Have patience !
This is free software with a lot of work put in !
Current version is good enough if you ask me anyway.

I'm not saying it's unstable or buggy for me. I'm just excited to test the new features and help out if I can.

The weekend hasn't ended yet.
Re: Where is the new beta and how do we test it ?
True, I just hoped it would be earlier, not in the afternoon as people are more tired then (EU here).

Anybody else feel like this could be called a 4.0 release? 3.x is already 5 years old.
Re: Where is the new beta and how do we test it ?
5 years ? Why is development so slow ? For sure. It would bring even more people, potential developers too imo.

Lack of time and money.
Way better than that disastrous piece of software named utorrent, yet.

Oh I hear you. I could have never imagined that something can be ruined in such a way.

And those guys really have money on their hands !
And yet, whenever that huuge cache problem and memory leaking resurface the typical answer is to point to Windows cache system, as if qbit runs on Mars OS or whatever.

Go to mainsite see changes and grab beta.
Windows XP isn't supported at the moment.

Mate, check the changelog. Development is healthy (if not god-speed) compared to other open-source projects.
Version numbers are totally self-picked by each project. You could call the next version qBittorrent Next Ultimate 999 as well, there are no rules really.

Libtorrent 1.1+ is using more memory it seems. With only 2 torrents 1 active with 2 seeds im already using 158MB. Fresh start starts at 50-60MB right away.
It connects very fast to peers and works very well though, just wondering why its using that much of memory for no appearent reason.
Here is a screenshot of v3.4.0beta using 319MB(!) with only 1 torrent running:
Vuze is using around 120-220MB with 21 torrents for the comparison which is java.
Here is qBittorrent v3.3.15 64bit with the same 2 torrents running:
