Chrome and Firefox doesn't play sound but IE does

I've found an issue and was hoping some of you could help. I'm generally pretty savvy with PC's but can't solve this.

Essentially Chrome and Firefox don't play audio, and chrome doesn't show an icon on any sound device in the mixer. I'm on Windows 7.

When it happened (I think) was after the AskReddit thread came about great free software I tried ninite.com to build my typical favorite apps. This included Chrome, but also QBittorrent. So while it was running I was like... maybe my work won't appreciate QBittorrent being there, and I canceled the installation while I think the Chrome Install was running. (My exact combo of apps: ninite.com/7zip-audacity-chrome-faststone-irfanview-krita-libreoffice-notepadplusplus-qbittorrent-steam-teamviewer13-teracopy-vlc/) but I doubt that's important.

Then the sound failed. Afterward, I've uninstalled Chrome, reinstalled chrome, reset chrome settings. Tried in Incognito, and Firefox. Tried IE ... it works in IE.

I'm not sure what you're smoking but if I were you I'd stop.
