qBittorrent keeps crashing

I’m using Windows 10, got an i3-8100 processor from Intel (3.60 GHz), and well over 200 GB worth of free memory.
Recently, qBittorrent has been taking a long while to download metadata after I double-click a result from its internal search engine. If I tried to click OK before it did, it would just crash (‘not responding’). Today it got worse: now it won’t even download the metadata, just crash regardless. Even if I try using a torrent file I download myself, it might show me the metadata but crash as soon as I click ‘OK’. As a matter of fact, even if I don’t.
