Re: [Unofficial] qBittorrent 2.9.7 installer
Great job, fszymanski!
But I have one complain. Could the installer be made to update qBittorrent versions in Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, not just adding new entries? For example, now I have 3 entries for qBittorrent -

Code: Select all
qBittorrent 2.9.3 (this is from sledge's build)
qBittorrent version 2.9.5
qBittorrent version 2.9.7
Re: [Unofficial] qBittorrent 2.9.7 installer
is 2.9.7 finally with utp? because currently i use transmission and 95% clients are connected with utp. Using utp i only get maximum speeds, maybe my isp limits non-utp connections i dont know.

Not until libtorrent 0.16 is integrated.

Re: [Unofficial] qBittorrent 2.9.7 installer
As far as I know lib 0.16 isn't stable enough yet. uTp not working correctly, (my experience) not handling connections properly/or rejecting which causes to connect to very less peers and very low/none downloadspeed. So we need to wait for it to get stable first .

Strange that libtorrent is taking so long to get uTP yet Transmission has had it for quite some time.

Hi,
I updated the Qt4 and compiled OpenSSL with msvc2010 ("msvcr90.dll" no longer needed)
Link: https://rapidshare.com/files/3185517258 ... _setup.exe (built with msvc2010)
Libs:
- libtorrent 0.15.10
- Qt 4.8.1
- Boost 1.49.0
- OpenSSL 1.0.1 (built with msvc2010)

Re: [Unofficial] qBittorrent 2.9.7 installer
this client REALLY needs to have utp support and it really needs to get the memory usage down to less then 80MB
also uTP has been available in the trunk for some time and its very stable (rTorrent uses it )
http://libtorrent.svn.sourceforge.net/v ... ent/trunk/
I would attempt to compile a new build my self with the latest svn for libtorrent but i hate QT =/
also using the -o2 and enabling sse4 would help to )

Memory usage is about 30 MB on Win 7 Pro SP1 32-bit.

You have Qt, but you are using qBittorrent and... ehm... what?
If you are afraid of the libs and packages, just set up a virtual environment (VirtualBox, VMWare), and create a package there. (Or you can upload your very own package into a PPA (Ubuntu)).

SSE4 will be useless. /arch:SSE should help more. /O2 is the default for release builds unless someone messes with it /LTCG should help too, and PGO even more. But in order for qBittorrent to truly benefit one would have to compile Qt and all the libraries used themselves with the aforementioned switches. Too much hassle if you ask me but it might be worth it...

Re: [Unofficial] qBittorrent 2.9.7 installer
Depending on the workstation compilation of Qt may even take a couple of hours.
