How to convert to portable

I have an normal windows installation of qBittorrent that I want to convert to portable without losing my torrents, their status or m settings. Is this possible? What do I have to do?

Actually the same question here. In bunch of topics I see that "mystical" option -- "--portable" mentioned:

but I can't find any "documentation" for this option usage: if I'm passing it to already-installed qBittorrent -- nothing happens -- application simply exits upon the start.
