qB can not do selective downloads?

When I try to do a selective downloading of this multi-file torrent:

I have no idea what happens but when I choose all files in (for example) 25xx "subdir", qB will transfer up to approximately 50..75% of data and then choke with bogus "part_write" with ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER win32 error message.
I tried more selections. qB can handle only very small amount of files. I was almost sure there is 2GiB threshold but no, just was able to transfer 2.28GiB (selection+overhead) still no pattern at all.
