Help with Remote Console over LAN

Hi all,
I'm trying to set up qBit for my home but I can't get it to work.
Right now I have two issues:
When accessing from any other PC that's not the one running qBit, I'm asked for username and password, although I whitelisted the subnet ip range.
Second, even if I enter the username and password, the connection never happens and firefox throws this error:
PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR

What am I doing wrong?

Are you using the latest version? In the recent versions you can just disable LAN authentication.
