4.2.2 UI scaling too big on Windows 8.1 Pro x64 high DPI display

Yikes! Huge increase in installer size (4.2.1 24.5 MB, 4.2.2 37.2 MB). What's up with that?!
But the big problem for me is that 4.2.2 UI scaling is HUGE on my high DPI panel (14" 2560 x 1440),
and I can find no way to reduce it. 4.2.1 was fine. 4.2.2 not so much.
Is there any good solution? I've reverted to 4.2.1 in the meantime.
