Slow speeds when adding big torrents?

Post by Teletha »

i dont know if its a bug or something, i was hoping to get some insight of this issue/feature.

so there is 2 big torrents of 200-240GB when they are running all torrents gets bad speeds but if i pause the 2 big torrents i get back to normal speed.
i have turned of the allocation of free space when adding the torrents so i dont see what the client is doing to make these speed..

here is them all running: https://i.imgur.com/r7hjvZa.png
here is the big ones set to PAUSE: https://i.imgur.com/LriWqPx.png
here i have resumed them again: https://i.imgur.com/8BEtMQu.png -> https://i.imgur.com/h5HS2iw.png

Absolutely the same.

At first, the speed was 4-5 mbps, then dropped to 100-200kbps. It's been a month downloading for me.

Another 500 GB torrent did the same, but since it was only 1.1% downloaded, I removed it and started it again and the speed was again high (4-5mbps). This second time it didn't lose speed.

I've tested with another torrent client and the speeds are high on all big torrents, but something throttles qBit v4.2.1

All the settings were checked, resetted, set again etc.

Which version of qBittorrent are you guys using?

Try setting the cache setting to 128MB within the advanced settings and see how it performs. Im testing this myself too as seen here: https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/12336.
