qBittorrent won't download torrents

I don't know if this is a bug so I am putting it into the forum. qBittorrent 4.2.5 won't download. It's stuck on downloading MetaData. For torrents that I opened with Torrent files, it says Stalled. I turned off NordVPN, no-go. I verified that there were open firewall rules for qbittorrent in Windows Defender Firewall and Norton Firewall. I turned off Malwarebytes Premium, no-go. I installed qbittorrent 3.3.16 no-go. I'm running Windows 10.0.18363. It worked at the end of March when I last downloaded some torrents, so about 6 weeks ago. I also had to reboot, so that's been done. I can't think of anything major that has changed except for Windows updates.
