Not seeding. How to check if vpn is causing it?

popular torrent but only seeded 10MB after 1 hour +.
Messed with upload slots and alternative rate but no change.
Never went above 5-10kbps but mostly 0
Im using proton vpn. How can i check if its the vpn/fix?
