I don't understand the Tags disfunctionality.

upgraded from 4.2.1 to 4.3.3 and thanks for the work ,,, now:
The Tags have to be opened for each change, Grrr, so I may add/change five tags, but now it takes five times as much work. What was wrong with leaving the menu open??? So stop using tags or go back to 4.2.1 like I did after 4.2.5 didn't meet expectations.
The colors! WOW! Thin blue or green text on varied colors of blue highlight background. Didn't see that coming. Or, specifically, hard to see that anytime. So go back to 4.2.1?
