How to start Qbittorrent each time the computer is started?

Post by rmlazzari »

Hi, I'd like to set my Qbittorrent to be started everytime I turn on my computer and, if it's possible, to start it minimized. Well... I've found how to start minimized but only if I start it manually. I search in Tools, Preferences how to start with the system but found nothing. I'm running Linux Mint, last version.

Thank you.

Which edition of Linux Mint are you running? This article has instructions on how to add apps to startup.

If you're running Cinnamon (the default) look for the qBittorrent shortcut in /usr/share/applications and paste it into ~/.config/autostart. This will make the program run every time you log in.

That will only work for your user. If you have multiple users and want it to run when anyone logs in, paste the shortcut into /etc/xdg/autostart instead. You'll need to have root privileges to paste into that folder.
