Migrating data from W7 to xubuntu

Post by doppelgangerexe »

Hello, fellow users. I'm trying to migrate my standard neccesities to a Linux-based OS (in this case, xubuntu) from Windows 7 and one of the apps I use most is qbittorrent. I have about 100 active torrents on my Windows7-client and it would be a pain in the ass to add every torrent one by one again, so I ask you guys: is there any way that I can migrate my data from my client in Windows 7 to my client in xubuntu? I mean by that: importing torrents, categories, tags, etc. I know that it is possible from Windows to Windows by simply copying the files on AppData folders, but I have no idea how to do the same working on xubuntu.

Thanks for any help!

Qbt developers do not sees as a priority apparently  >:(. I am looking for the same thing, only i have like 1000 torrents and 90 categories. qbt is the main thing that hold me from leaving M$ Windows!
- There is one half-solution: https://github.com/AlexP11223/qBTConverter
- my next idea is if some competetive bittorrent client have up to date qbittorrent import tool and supports Windows to Linux migration

I have not found file that contains my qbt categories, so i could not use some Linux tool to do bulk replace of the paths. Also i was not sucesful for fast resume files either. Its encoding or whatever prevented my bulk search and replace attempts.

Devs please can You think about allowing settings migration between NIX & Windows? https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/9912

Thx, i have not found anything related to to my issue in it, except the idea that i can try to run qbt via Windows app emulator - Wine. Though i do not think this is ideal solution.
