How to report my real ip to tracker while using proxy?

Post by Gaojianli »

Hi everyone.. I am using a PT site, and I have to use proxy to connect the tracker. By using the proxy, I can download others freely, but my ip shown at the site is just my proxy ip! That means others can't connect to me, I wonder how to deal with it.. Thanks..

That's the whole point of proxy IP. If the tracker got hacked, their data stolen, etc, all their peer IPs would show. If you see the proxy IP, you are safe.
That said, it does render you passive. Which is awful for seeding.

To seed on private trackers, you need a seedbox, or a VPN. But a seedbox is just way more convenient/easier and faster too.
tl;dr: I'd recommend just using a seedbox.

I am using my nas to seed. And to be honest, i don't really need to hide my IP, in my region, the bt is legal. I am using proxy just because I can't connect to the tracker directly, so i use a linode as my proxy server.

There is really no going around this sadly. If you use a proxy, you are passive. It's that simple. :/
