Auto start on boot

Post by Fahim »

Hey! How do I start qBittorrent at my PC startup? I tried to add the desktop shortcut on the Startup Applications Preferences but it's not working. I found online that I need to add the qBittorrent directory at Startup Application which should be /usr/bin/qbittorrent. But there's no such directory on my Linux machine. What should I do now to start qBittorrent at system boot? Thanks!

Maybe if you said what Linux distribution you are using and with what desktop someone might have some ideas.

Yes knowing which distro/desktop versions you are on is important. If it's xfce/mate or anything simular that has a "Session and Startup" in the system settings menus you can head over to the "Application Autostart" tab and press the + at the bottom to add qbittorent launcher on startup. Just copy what it says in the normal application launcher "Command: qbittorrent %U" etc. Hope that helps.
