Can't add uploaded torrents (won't recheck just stalls)

I've tried uploading torrents to a private tracker. I add the torrent folder to the uploads folder which I have configured as the save path. When I click save, it just sticks on stalled. I keep clicking recheck hash and it won't. I'm not sure what else to try. I am using NordVPN but that shouldn't stop QB from hash checking? Also I have other torrents I downloaded and they're seeding just fine.
