Some question about translation

Post by kraleksandr »

Here is some code examples from "qBittorrent/src/lang/qbittorrent_ru.ts" file.

Code: Select all

        <source>&Tools</source>
        <translation>???&????????</translation>

Code: Select all

        <source>&Edit</source>
        <translation>?&?????</translation>

Code: Select all

        <source>E&xit</source>
        <translation type="obsolete">?&????</translation>
Why there is "&" inside the translated rows?

It means that the next letter after & will be underlined for the keyboard "alt + letter"

Ah, the hotkey thingie...
(I hate it SO MUCH when Hungarian translators mess those up. Like they make 3-4 hotkeys with the same letters, so they make them basically useless.) :/

Not that I use Hungarian software on my own computer, but sometimes I have to work on PCs with Hungarian locale.

Hi guys,

I'm a new translator for the german language (I did also uTorrent before ...) and have already finished the untranslated phrases as well as a polish on the already done translation.
What I have downloaded now from Transifex is the "for_use_qbittorrent_qbittorrent_master_de.ts" file.
On qBittorrent itself, in the "translations" folder I found the "qt_de.qm" file from 29.07.2013 (which seems to be "old" in my opinion).

So I want to ask: how to get the new downloaded .ts file working with my qBittorrent, or how to convert the .ts to a .qm for replacement and/or test?

EDIT: I found the particular answer after some search in the qt-linguist software site. File -> Release!
EDIT2: the created .qm file is just half size of the one in the translations folder and it seems that qBittorrent ignores the file/content.
I tried to remove the complete folder and still qBittorrent is coming up in german with the old phrases.
So what's the way?

Thanks for the nice welcome,
I feel shamed - for sure I'm no celebrity or defector (as somebody also wrote). I feel myself just as a "right time mover" ...
Hopefully the problems stated above can be solved?

@Muzak  and @schnurlos I have never frequented the utorrent forums in the past, so I would never know who well-known people are coming over from the utorrent community.
