How to lose your torrents

Post by FooBarSvenson »

Hi,

First praise to dev team for lovely client in the terms of usability top notch and easy to use and tons of features.  However not so fun when you loose a mount point.  Say you USB external HD goes on off due to cable. What happens is that qB thinks all torrents are gone (which they are), but then what happens when they are back on again qB moves them from the "done" dir to the "not done" dir and starts overwriting the files. Not fun since it can really screw things up...  Maybe there could be a function to ask if this is really what you want to do when ~700 seeds go off line so to say.  There is probably something wrong going on. I can think of NAS with NFS mount doing similar stuff when network goes down and all kind of other scenarios, there should be some logic or verification here before you move say more than 10 seeds. This is just constructive critic ok :). I'm now force checking 3TB of data will take a few hours and hopefully only a few torrents need to be fixed.

Cheers Svenson
