for the past half year or so i have had issues with downloading torrents via qbittorrent. I've used this for a few years now without much trouble. but for some reason, when i download a torrent on my desktop, the download speed goes up and down extremely, and when it goes down (around 100kb/s) i can't even access any external site. it's like my download speed is maxed out, but it's not.
i don't download many torrent so it never bothered me that much, but it is getting annoying after several months.
So far, it looks like its a combination of qbittorrent and my desktop. but i cant figure out what the problem is.
what I've tried:
Desktop + qbittorrent = no internet
desktop + transmission = normal internet
server + qbittorrent = normal internet
tried disabling Windows 10 firewall, no effect
reinstalled the software (Several times), no effect
tried both 64 and 32 bit, no effect
tried different ports (even the one that my server and transmission used), no effect
i used CCleaner and removed every folder i could find related to qbbittorrent and removed it. cleaned up registry as well, no effect.
I've set it up as default, no effect
set it up like it is on my server, no effect
the log says it successfully listens on the specified port (be it fixed or random).
i don't think I'm doing anything fancy with the application, but i just can't figure out what's causing this problem.
Does anyone have an idea?
Other platforms, generic questions.
