I do apologize for the long delay, right now macports is having issues with getting qt 4.8.5 being built, there are discussions on their bug tracker regarding patches etc, though ironically I managed to get qt5 compiled, anyways as soon as qt4 is working again I'll get to trying again, hopefully my linking errors will be resolved

Why don't you try with 4.8.4 instead?

because using outdated libraries is not an option for me, for me to use outdated libraries is like asking me to compromise my security, that's just me though, anyways seems the patchwork is done according to the macports crew, it's building as we speak, so maybe later tonight or possibly tomorrow we may have a test build ready using macports build system, should work on 10.9 as well
