Re: qBittorrent 3.1.2

Re: qBittorrent 3.1.2
you give up too quickly, don't worry about it we will have it figured out. Just for now don't use the search function.
Re: qBittorrent 3.1.2
Hi Zach,
I just signed up to say thank you! I've been using the btguard proxy for a while and this new version has been working great with it. Was finally able to ditch Vuze which was the only viable alternative for macs since the libtorrent bug. So again thank you for bringing back my favorite torrent client
Also regarding the search errors, I didn't have any problems using it, I'm also running mavericks and haven't run into any problems yet.
I'll keep using it and will report back if I encounter anything. This should be released as the official build!

Re: qBittorrent 3.1.2
well I'm working with the guys about getting it officially released, just want to make sure everything tests out ok, the more reports about it working properly will speed that up a bit, but then again the odd bug or two won't hurt either as it will go towards improving qbittorrent
EDIT: 32 downloads so far recorded with more on the way. And so far no further issues being reported yet regarding the builds

Re: qBittorrent 3.1.2
I just wanted to thank you for your work on fixing the proxy issues however recently I have been getting "hangs" and I see this error on my console .. I typically have to force-quit qBittorrent
I have been using your 3.2.1 build on OSX 10.9

Re: qBittorrent 3.1.2
I'm not really fixing anything serious really, I'm just packaging only, and mind you the 3.2.x builds is considered alpha quality, it is recommended you use the stable build
EDIT: did a new revision of a fix that will be implemented in 3.1.3 into the 3.1.2 build so downloads have been updated

Re: qBittorrent 3.1.2
one thing I can think of is clearing old settings
in your terminal you can run "rm $HOME/Library/Preferences/com.qbittorrent.plist*" (without the quotes) and try running qbittorrent (you may need to resetup settings) but give it a try and see what happens from there

well . oddly i have tried that and it seems the settings values seem to persist despite my best efforts trying to delete all the apparent config files. .. I am trying to find if there is some other hidden config file .. but no matter how many times I remove that file (and all the other related ones in application support/preferences it still seems to retain the current configuration settings.. frankly its baffling.. I even used an "app zapper" type program just to see if I was missing anything,,
I've tried deleting all these files/folders and weirdly the qbittorrent settings seem to persist after they are deleted (and the app is not running)
~/Library/Caches/qBittorrent
~/Library/Preferences/com.qbittorrent.qBittorrent.plist
~/Library/Application Support/qBittorrentgeoip

Re: qBittorrent 3.1.2
hrm, I would post something in the bug tracker, I'm not entirely part of the development team but I try to help where I can https://github.com/qbittorrent/qbittorrent/issues

Thanks for the help..
I did try making an alternate login and the settings do not seem to persist in the new login so its probably something most likely some file in the user directory.

Re: qBittorrent 3.1.2
Probably, if the issue exists on the new account, then it's an upgrade issue, if not then it's probably something within the app and should be reported on the githup project page and I or someone else will look into the issue

Re: qBittorrent 3.1.2
Another user had a similar problem with settings and here is how he solved it: https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/1094
Re: qBittorrent 3.1.2
I'm sure it is the same issue, I told him to post there so that it can be tracked. I still have no idea what's wrong, at the moment I'm away from my computer as I'm dealing with some family issues
Re: qBittorrent 3.1.2
Long time user of qbittorrent here. Have a pretty vanilla OS install. 3.0.9 worked great, but 3.1.3 crashes right away, I can't start it. I'm pretty good with linux/osx, so let me know if you want any other information, but I don't know where qbittorrent logs useful information about what is crashing. Here is the report:
