uto-downloads are added to transfer list, but never start. Requires qBitorrent r

Post by reemusk »

RSS downloads will get added to the transfer list, but will sit there and show "Downloading..." with "unknown" file size, and an infinite ETA.

If I close and re-open qBitorrent, then it downloads just fine. Until the next item is added to the transfer list. Then it starts all over again.

The only thing I can think of is I recently switched from a WiFi connection to a hardwire connection. I have changed no other settings/hardware.

I'm on OSX 10.9.5 running qBitorrent 3.1.9.1

Here's my log. I have ports 6881 open.

Why don't read your log and actually go to the settings and change your port?
Also what are your queue settings?
In the advanced settings try to choose the specifc network interface you're using and not "any interface". This might solve your problem.
If you resize the "status" column you'll see that it is saying "Downloading metadata".

Ok -- I will try and change the interface. That was a problem in a few of my other applications too, after I switched from Wifi to a hardwired connection.

The ports I have in the settings -- 6881 and 1025 (for proxy) ARE open in my router. I've tested them online. I don't have it set to open a random port at startup, but as you can see, it assigned port 57145 -- which I also opened.

I will report back.

edit: also, I have no settings for queuing. and you are correct, it does show Downloading Metadata.

Are you sure that you aren't running another program that uses to port 6881?
Can you give a screenshot showing the stuck download? (obscure the names)

I haven't configured anything to run on the ports I have for qbitorrent, and I haven't changed any settings for other applications (noob question, is there a way for me to double check?)

This happens with ALL magnets if there are very few peers available.

Do you actually have an IPv6 address or only IPv4?

I think the messages about the port, are sent from your router. Maybe some other device has taken the port 6881 on your router so the router opens some port for you.

Not necessarily, it probably just means that the port number is already forwarded. NAT-PMP/UPnP cannot tell what opened the port, ... only that it is already open.  So it returns a 'failed' response.

My torrents have lots of peers. I've only had this problem since switching to a hardwired connection (which i selected in advanced options)

I checked my port forwarding, they're all open.

My DHT says 0 nodes, and the incoming connection icon is yellow.

I've tried rebooting both the router and computer. No luck.

I went into my routers settings, ensured I was the only device connected to see if it's something else.

I'm completely lost.

Update, still doesn't work:

Tried re-re-doing the port mapping on my router, just to be sure.
Deactivated my proxy inside qBitorrent (BTGuard)
Rebooted both devices again
Confirmed nothing else is using the ports needed

Still nothing.

DHT = 0 nodes, and "downloading metadata" for everything I add.

edit: update for the logs

Okay, sorry to be blowing up my own thread, but here's something interesting.

DHT still shows 0 nodes, yellow icon saying no incoming connections

When i add a magnet (yes, even one with a ton of peers), it says downloading metadata

if i try that exact same download with a .torrent file, it works fine.

WTF? I have the port open for TCP and UDP, so I'm not sure why it isn't handling the download like it should.

This isn't a fix for me, as I use qBitorrrent's awesome RSS feature to automatically download and file my shows into my Plex Media Server. Not sure what's going on.

Make sure you have anonymous mode off.
You didn't answer if you actually connect to the net via ipv6.
Also what happens if you switch back to your wifi connection? (don't forget to change the interface name in the settings)

Sorry -- my router and OSX both say they're connecting via IPV6...i don't see the style of address, all I see are IPV4

okay....what the actual fuck....i connected via WiFi and now it's working?

what have I done?! I just want to be hardwired!

(anonymous mode is off, and has always been off)
