Optimizing Torrent DL Speeds specifically QBitorrent

I've actually set up a custom Windscribe VPN Connection, I'm not terribly worried about Iron-Clad Anonymity my ISP isn't that thorough, my biggest problem is the most I'm getting via my Connection is 1.2mbps

I'm on a 200mbps+ Connection If at all possible a 2mbps/3mbps would be nice.

Anyone have any tips, guides to follow? Any information I have to provide first?

1. Test qBitTorrent on official Linux distro torrents, which are known to be extremely fast...for downloading. (Seeding is nearly impossible, because it's hard to compete with 10 gbit/sec seedboxes.)

2. Speed test your connection, post results -- I've seen a few people having general speed issues and qBT is just one of the ways they spotted it.

3. Make sure neither download nor upload is being overloaded during your tests and with regular torrents.
